Do you need endnotes and footnotes for Chicago Style papers?

I'm writing in Chicago Style. I am using foot notes with a superscript number paired with a corresponding note on the bottom of the page where the superscript number is located. Do I need to compile an entire list of the footnotes, them being now endnotes, as well as a bibliography? Simplified is it: footnote (on bottom of page) citation, then endnote citation of the same footnote, and then bibliography including the footnote/endnote citation?Do you need endnotes and footnotes for Chicago Style papers?

I don't know about the specific questions you ask, because I always had to use the APA (American Psychological Association) Style Manual.

However, my GUESS would be that since footnotes are much easier to do now that we have word processors, there is no longer any joy in torturing typists who had erasable paper and would have to estimate the number of lines to be reserved for footnotes.

I know about those painful estimations from first-hand experience, and have never seen another footnote since personal computers were becoming popular.

And, here is an excellent source, IMHO...it gives examples of each kind of source, as it should be listed in the bibliography AND the footnotes. http://library.osu.edu/sites/guides/chic鈥?/a>

Here is an online Chicago Style Manual, that is free to try: http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/home鈥?/a>

WOOHOO! You will get to FINALLY use the footnote capability of your word processor, and this is the first example I've found!
