Is it possible to have endnotes and footnotes in the same paper for MLA style research format?

I have never used footnotes or endnotes in my research papers, so this is a fairly remedial question, but here goes. Within one research paper, is it acceptable, conventional to use BOTH footnotes and endnotes, or is it an 'either or' situation?





Also, if anyone knows, when using footnotes and/or endnotes, is it appropriate to also have a Works Cited page at the end?
