How do i insert a footnote using word 2008 for macs?

鈥?On the View menu, click Print Layout.


鈥? In your document, click where you want to insert the note reference mark


鈥?On the Insert menu, click Footnote.


鈥?Click Footnote or Endnote.


鈥?Under Numbering, click the option that you want.


鈥?Click OK.


Word inserts the note number and places the cursor next to the note number in the footnote or endnote.


鈥?Type the note text.


鈥?Scroll to your place in the document, and then click where you want to continue typing.





If you want to change the footnote, then:


鈥?On the View menu, click Print Layout.


鈥?In your document, double-click the note reference mark


Word automatically scrolls to the footnote or endnote.


鈥?Make the changes that you want.





Tip If you add, delete, or move a note, you must update the cross-reference number. Hold down CONTROL, click the cross-reference number, and then click Update Field on the contextual menu. Word updates cross-references automatically when you print.
