How can I format a footnote on word?

I am trying to format the text in the actual footnote so that it starts and ends left justified, EXCLUDING the actual footnote number, similar to a bullet point item. Can't seem to do it. Is it possible? Thanks. How can I format a footnote on word?
Footnote text, like all other text in Word, has an associated paragraph style. On my machine, it's Footnote Text. In any case, here's what I suggest:

1. Assuming you're in a recent version of Word (XP/2002 or later), create a footnote to pull the paragraph style into the document.

2. Put the cursor into the footnote text (not the reference).

3. Click on the Format-%26gt;Styles and Formatting menu item. The Styles and Formatting sidebar should open up, with the footnote text style in the text box at the top.

4. Put the cursor into the text box and click the down arrow that appears.

5. Click Modify. A Modify Style dialog box should appear.

6. Click the Format button at the bottom.

7. Select Paragraph.

8. You should now be in the standard Paragraph style dialog box. Adjust the Indentation group, especially the Special selection, to suit your taste.

9. Click OK to save everything. You might want to save this back to your template for future use.
