How do i insert a footnote in microsoft word?

To put in a Word footnote:

In Word versions prior to Word 2007 (Vista):

1. Position the cursor where you want the footnote or endnote reference to go.

2. Click on the Insert-%26gt;Reference-%26gt;Footnote menu item.

3. Click Insert.

4. Type the footnote.

The footnotes are best viewed in Print Layout view, at least until you get used to how they work.

In Word 2007:

1. Position the cursor where you want the footnote or endnote reference to go.

2. Click the References tab on the Ribbon.

3. Click the arrow in the lower right corner of the Footnotes group.

4. Continue as in Step 3, above.

Hope that helps.
