How do I link several texts to the same footnote?

On Microsoft Word 2007

For example: ';The man wearing a blue coat(1) was carrying a large fish(1).

(1) Source of information';

I don't want to do it by simply writing out the number, I want to do it using the footnote featureHow do I link several texts to the same footnote?
There’s a way, but the secondary footnote won’t update automatically. You have to select it and do an F9 (update reference) on it for that to happen. Here's how:

1. Click where you want the pseudo-footnote to go.

2. Click the References tab on the Ribbon.

3. In the Captions group, click the Cross Reference icon.

4. Select Footnote as Reference Type.

4. In the Insert Reference to list box, select Footnote Number (Formatted).

5. Click Insert.

6. Select the new “footnote reference” and press CTRL/SHIFT/= to make it a superscript.

Hope that helps.
