With your skin dry
Of Norwegian soap
Tucked away
Pleasantly
In the dark night,
Without a prince,
Illuminated by coal
You and your girl
and your steed
Muscled and beautiful
Settling the thought critics
The Poetry Police,
Who were you then?
Who are you now?
What have you become?
Their eyes are bloody,
Your skin is rigid. Is this collection of words but a literary footnote?
I don't think I can say that anyone will understand a word of what you are trying to say. You are obviously trying to say something. I recognize lines from old poems, references to other poets, even I don't quite understand.
Focus your thoughts. A tiny glass can burn a hole in skin. You have the mind and the words, put them together. Is this collection of words but a literary footnote?
In the long shadow of Time, all is a literary footnote...here and now, this is a poem, complete with characters right out of central casting. Thanks for sharing.
