I read somewhere that footnotes can be used as a stylistic thing in writing. I need a definition with a source please!What is a footnote as a literary term?
Def: an ancillary (meaning necessary support) piece of information added at the bottom of a page. A thing that is additional or less important. (source-widget dictionary)
Stylistically, it would mean that you have a reason to add additional information that you didn't want to put into the body of the paper or work.
