What to put on a website footnote for a report?

I'm doing a report on West Virginia Univrsity for our Comptuer Apps. Performence Test. We have to add a footnote source at the end. I'm confused, I thought that was a citation? Or is it? And, if I'm just sourcing a website then do I just put the website at the bottom of the page as a footnote? Please help, thanks in advance. :)What to put on a website footnote for a report?
Write your foot note where the curser is in your page. Foot notes help the reader to get immediate information about a difficult topic whereas citations prove where it came from so they can look themself, appearing in text and on a reference page at the end of the document.

Use this for Word: INSERT%26gt; REFERENCE %26gt; FOOTNOTE

Notice that is you put your curser over the “1”, you will see that it reads the entire note from below. And Yes, you need to cite an online source as follows:

How to footnote a Web page:

23 Jim Zwick, Anti-Imperialism in the United States, 1898-1935, http://www.rochester.ican.net/~fjzwick/a… (May 1997).

The above is in Chicago Style. You need to be specific about which style so people can help you better. What to put on a website footnote for a report?
Are you using APA or MLA form of a research paper? There is a great cite that will help you using foot notes and a bibliography. It's http://citationmachine.net/index2.php Best wishes
