When doing footnote, can you use a number more than once?

so like if u have 1 as a source for a sentence already, is it possible to put 1 for another sentence? When doing footnote, can you use a number more than once?
No, that's not possible. If you're using the same source again, you need to create a new footnote.

However, if footnotes 1 and 2 are both the same author, you can do this:

1. Smith, John. 1995. Widgets and Gidgets. New York: City Press. p. 50.

2. Ibid. p. 30.

(Ibid means it's just the same source again.)

And even if they're not right next to each other, the next time you just have to use the author's last name and page number (i.e. Smith p. 41), you don't have to write out the whole cite again.
